Hi, my name's Sam Thackeray. I'm a splitboard guide for Payette Powder Guides in McCall, Idaho. I'm also an avalanche educator, working on keeping people safe, from the beginner recreationist all the way up to professionals. 

We're going to talk a little bit about education and some of the techniques and tips and tricks that we as professionals use to stay safe in the backcountry and keep our clients safe. And this applies to everybody, from the beginner all the way up to the seasoned professional and how we go out there and look at the terrain and use the terrain and make decisions to keep ourselves and everyone else out there safe.
